Our Journey to Natural Protection: The Story Behind Butterfly & Bee
Millie, our beloved dog, is the embodiment of energy and joy. She loved nothing more than running through the grass, playing fetch, and exploring the great outdoors across New England. But as much as we enjoyed those adventures, we started noticing a growing problem, ticks. Every walk in the woods became a potential risk, not just for Millie but for us as well, with ticks crawling over our clothes and skin.
That’s when everything changed. Millie fell ill, and after a thorough diagnosis, we learned she was affected by three different tick-borne illnesses. It was a wake-up call. We knew we had to do something to better protect her and ourselves.
Our first step was doing extensive research. We wanted solutions that were effective but safe, without relying on harsh chemicals or toxins. That’s when Butterfly & Bee was born. We decided to create our own line of plant-based, organic products designed to repel mosquitos and ticks naturally.
We started with yard treatments to keep pests off our property, then expanded to organic sprays and repellents for use on our pets and ourselves. Throughout the process, we’ve been incredibly mindful of our environmental footprint. All of our packaging is eco-friendly, crafted from recyclable products, because protecting our family should also mean protecting our planet.

Butterfly & Bee started with one mission: to protect our beloved dog and ourselves from ticks and mosquitoes without exposing anyone to harmful chemicals.
As we became more mindful of what we were putting on our skin and in our homes, we realized how many everyday products were filled with unnecessary toxins. So we slowly expanded to natural laundry soap, then balms, wipes, creams, and more. Each new product was born from the same purpose: to care for our loved ones with clean, plant-based, eco-friendly alternatives.
